BitTorrent client Vuze has received its latest maintenance update as the 5.2.0 branch moves forward, edging closer to its final (stable) release for Mac, Windows, and Linux users alike.

Testers who download Vuze 5.2.0.1 Beta 3 are told to notice changes in the detection logic for writable directories, “an attempt to fix an issue whereby a valid default save location is flagged as invalid,” according to the Vuze Team.

Some users have been reporting slow UI initialization with antivirus products installed. AV software is known to sometimes block socket connections, which cripples torrent apps like Vuze. The development team has made some fixes around this UI initialization issue, but there are no guarantees, since it’s still in beta.
