The GPL-licensed open source virtualization software, VirtualBox has been enhanced for Apple’s OS X Mountain Lion in the latest incremental release from Oracle this week.

Changing a few things here and there, VirtualBox 4.1.20 is mostly a bugfix release. Those interested in the specifics can visit the changelog at this address.

For those who want to know about the big changes only, sadly, there aren’t any. There is, however, one particularly interesting mention of OS X Mountain Lion in the release notes.

Oracle says VirtualBox 4.1.20 includes “adaptions to Mountain Lion” for OS X hosts. In other words, this version has been optimized to run better on Apple’s latest OS X iteration. And with OS X 10.8.1 on the way, expect another update from Oracle soon.
