Developer Tapbots is greeting Twitter fans with a brand new release of Tweetbot 3, an updated version of the company’s Twitter client for iPhone and iPod touch.

Tweetbot 3 for Twitter version 3.2.1 adds support for viewing images in Direct Messages, something which Twitter Inc. itself has added in the latest update for TweetDeck users. However, Tapbots notes that “sending images in Direct Messages is not yet supported by the Twitter public API.”

The rest of the update mainly consists of code corrections. Tapbots doesn’t mention any specific bugs that the company has squashed in this release.

As of now, you can only download Tweetbot 3 for Twitter only on devices running iOS 7. The iPad version still only requires iOS 5 and was last updated in November 2013.
