South Ventures USA LLC is out with a new version of Soundtracker Radio, the company’s music streaming app that takes cues from social networks and the popular Pandora music service.

Apple itself once said, “If Pandora and Facebook had a baby, it would be Soundtracker.” Featured by the Cupertino giant in its App Store ads (before it even considered entering the music streaming business), Soundtracker allows users to discover and play music in real time, with the ability to comment on friends' stations, chat, check their latest music, etc.

Version 6.1 is now available with a built-in Tutorial for iPhone and iPod users. Apparently, the iPad user base doesn’t need one (or maybe they’re taking things one step at a time).

Next on the list of improvements is an updated user interface, with cleaner buttons and menus. Lastly, some under-the-hood code corrections have given Soundtracker Radio a performance boost.
