Microsoft has released SkyDrive 3.0 in the App Store or, should we say, Apple has approved Microsoft’s SkyDrive 3.0 update following a widely-reported dispute over a subscription mechanism.

Apple and Microsoft have managed to settle a dispute over a subscription mechanism in the latter’s SkyDrive app that enabled iOS customers to purchase paid plans right in the application.

Basically you can’t do it, and that’s why it got approved. You have to do it in a browser now, but at least you get the latest version of the app with all its perks.

Those include: updated to support iPhone 5 and iPad mini; the ability to download full resolution photos to your iPhone or iPad; improved support for opening SkyDrive files in other apps / uploading files to SkyDrive from other apps; updated app icons and graphics; bug fixes.

Skydrive 3.0 is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. It Requires iOS 5.0 or later.
