Alex Ham’s free wallpaper app is quickly climbing up the ranks

A quick visit to the iTunes App Store’s Free apps section reveals that iOS 7 wallpaper apps are quite popular, with one developer reaching the 2nd place in the chart.

Make no mistake, “ScreenMotion Wallpapers iOS 7” includes static images which only begin to move when iOS 7 applies its parallax effect onto them. In essence, it’s just an ordinary wallpaper application, but since it has iOS 7 in its title, it is enjoying quite a hefty dose of popularity.

The same goes for “Wallpapers iOS 7 Edition,” another free wallpaper application from Escargot Studios, LLC.

However, unlike Escargot’s app, Alex Ham’s ScreenMotion Wallpapers iOS 7 includes handy Lock Screen and Home Screen preview options.

The images offer infinite scrolling and 100% Retina graphics, according to Ham, though I’ve already found some examples that look bad even on non-Retina displays. But hey, it’s free and is has some cool imagery to offer, so there’s nothing to lose.
