14 DAY TRIAL // Ubisoft has announced the rebirth of its popular action platformer, Prince of Persia, featuring new and enhanced graphics and “controls redesigned to fit your device.”
The French gaming studio is talking about Prince of Persia The Shadow and the Flame, a new iOS installment in the action platformer franchise. This new IP is set right after the events of Prince of Persia Classic, where the prince must embark on a journey in search of his past.
Gamers will follow the storyline of the original game while exploring 14 levels rendered in visually-stunning 3D, according to the studio, across five different environments.
If you’re expecting console-grade gameplay, don’t. This new Prince of Persia is your usual cell-phone experience, only it’s been upgraded for smartphones. I’ve always enjoyed the platformer installments of Prince of Persia, and at just $2.99 / €2.79, the game sounds like a bargain.
The requirements list over on iTunes is pretty long, mainly because Ubisoft is listing every iDevice currently in circulation as supported. Prince of Persia The Shadow and the Flame only requires iOS 4.3, so even the iPhone 3GS is good to go.
