Titanium Software has released yet another version of its popular multifunction utility for Mac OS X. This new release deals with a handful of bugs and makes the app run smoother and faster, according to the developers.

OnyX is one of those must-have system tools for hardcore Mac users which allows you to verify the startup disk and System file structure, run miscellaneous system maintenance tasks, configure hidden parameters (in the Finder, Dock, QuickTime etc), delete caches, remove clutter, and more.

Version 2.6.6 is out today with faster launching speed, improved localizations, a new Info > Protect panel, and a new version of sqlite3.

As far as bugs are concerned, the developers corrected an issue with the dates of running scripts, removed the iCal Debug menu option, corrected a bug with the Help menu, improved deleting Fonts and the Internet Cache, and optimized the app’s code.

OnyX is a free download and supports Mac OS X versions as old as Jaguar, Panther, and Tiger. The software is also fully supported on OS X Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion, and the newest version of Apple’s desktop OS, Mountain Lion.
