The Mac gets Maps, Finder Tags and Tabs, multi-display support, and more

Apple today announced OS X 10.9 Mavericks, the latest version of the company’s desktop operating system. A developer preview is immediately available for download.

At the WWDC 2013 keynote Apple today released a developer preview of OS X Mavericks, “the 10th major release of the world’s most advanced operating system.”

The OS brings over 200 new features to the table, including Apple Maps from iOS, iBooks, Finder Tags and Tabs, enhanced multi-display support, some extreme power efficiency and performance tweaks, and a blazing-fast Safari web browser.

According to the Cupertino tech giant, “The preview release of OS X Mavericks is available to Mac Developer Program members starting today. Mac users will be able to download Mavericks from the Mac App Store this fall.”
