Whether it’s trying to set a record for most seeds in a single incremental update, Apple this week has released yet another beta of OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion to developers.

People who are familiar with the software say Apple lists the same list of focus areas as before, including AirPlay, AirPort, Game Center, Graphics Drivers, and Safari.

No bug fixes are mentioned, though it is believed at OS X 10.8.3 packs a truckload of code corrections at this point.

The first beta was issued to developers in November 2012. Fast forward four months, Apple is still ironing out bugs, including security issues. A public release date has yet to be confirmed.

Elements that could previously be interpreted as clues pointing to an imminent release – such as no known issues, or smaller incremental build successions – are now pointless. Apple has made it almost impossible to predict when the software is coming out publicly, though it shouldn’t be too long now before that happens.
