Apple has released the eleventh build of OS X 10.8.3, an upcoming maintenance update for the company’s Mountain Lion operating system. The build includes a fix for the widely reported FILE bug.

A developer tells us that Apple posted the new build with an almost identical set of release notes which include the following focus areas: AirPlay, AirPort, Game Center, Graphics Drivers, and Safari.

The beta is the eleventh released by Apple spanning the development of OS X 10.8.3 alone. The company seems to be aiming to set a record number of seedings with the third incremental update for Mountain Lion.

According to this person, the build arrives with an important bug fix. Apple has patched the nasty FILE bug causing text-centric apps to crash on simply typing File (with a capital F), followed by colon and three slashes.

Apple Developer program members require the OS X Software Update Seed Configuration Utility to download OS X 10.8.3 build 12D68.
