14 DAY TRIAL // NeoOffice.org has pushed out the fifth patch for NeoOffice 3.3 users, the latest version of the free productivity suite reserved for generous donors. Patch 5 delivers both fixes and new features.
Fixed in NeoOffice 3.3 Patch 5 is an issue that caused the software to fail to launch when the user's home folder is on a remote volume. Another issue patched in this update involves opening .docx files with tables, where “NeoOffice would missize table cells that span multiple rows or columns,” according to the release notes.
New features include a much needed word count for Writer documents. You’ll notice it appear in the status bar once you update. Also new, color palettes are now automatically set to the document's selected text color.
NeoOffice requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later, 512 MB of memory and about 400 MB of free disk space.
