After launching Minecraft 1.4.4 for Mac OS X, Mojang felt it was only appropriate to increment the iOS version of the game as well. Minecraft – Pocket Edition 0.5.0 is a free update to all existing players of the awesome $6.99 / €5.99 building game.
Minecraft – Pocket Edition 0.5.0 brings paintings, mushroom farming, a Nether Reactor that is “strangely connected to the nether,” zombie pigmen and a truckload of bug fixes, according to Mojang.
For example, a bug causing animals to never respawn on certain maps has been addressed, restoring freedom to the animal kingdom inside Minecraft.
Players would sometimes accidentally hit other players and animals when not aiming for them, and this bug has also been patched.
A crash when loading some maps, or when pressing "Start Game," should no longer occur now.
Other issues involved players not being able to leave bed, or lava burning objects from a distance. Both these bugs have been squashed too.
Optimized for iPhone 5 and compatible with iOS 4.3, Minecraft – Pocket Edition 0.5.0 is immediately available for download at the link below.
