Microsoft OneNote for iPhone matured to version 2.1 today, adding a few minor improvements and a size reduction for the binary.

Redmond-based Microsoft has kept OneNote on a die, as the binary now comes in at just 129MB, something that the changelog mentions too: “major reduction in download and installation size.”

In addition to the loss in weight, OneNote 2.1 improves Japanese typing responsiveness, adds automatic list detection, and includes bug fixes in several areas where users have reported issues with the app.

Microsoft urges users upgrading from a version earlier than 2.0 to sync their existing application data before upgrading.

As its name implies, “Microsoft OneNote for iPhone” only works as a native app with small-screen devices, including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), and iPod touch (5th generation).

iPads are supported, but only in blow-up iPhone mode. iOS 6.0 is required to use the app.
