The official Kickstarter app has received a new update with some nice improvements to the project page, including easier sharing and the ability to discover more projects by location or category.

In addition to that, version 1.2 lets you fill out surveys from within the app, and you can now open a certain project from your messages, as well as view pledge information.

Lastly, customers seeing blank notifications should be glad to learn that the developers have fixed that nasty bug.

For those who aren’t familiar with the service, Kickstarter funds and follows creative projects in pretty much every domain (film, games, music, art, design, technology, etc.).

The Kickstarter app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad, and requires iOS 5.0 or later.

The app is optimized for iPhone 5, but not for tablets.
