New update addresses issues with background fetching

After updating his reading application with automatic fullscreen for pagination and various other perks, Marco Arment decided that some bug fixing was in order.

So he rolled out Instapaper 5.1.4 for iOS customers addressing some issues with background article fetching, something that a few customers have been reporting since the last update was released.

Speaking of which, if you haven’t updated in a while, you’re missing out on a lot of great stuff. In addition to the aforementioned pagination update, the following changes are available for users who download Instapaper 5.1.4 on their iDevice.

Swipe & tap page navigation for iBooks-style pagination Fix pagination issues when rotating/changing fonts Restore scroll position in article list when returning from move or share Fix Ideal Sans rendering Fix issue when trying to move an article to last folder on iPad Other bug fixes and minor improvements

Instapaper requires iOS 6.0 or newer and is compatible with all iPhones and iPads currently in circulation today. The software is localized in various different languages, including English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Turkish.
