The Hulu+ app, which only a few countries enjoy in this unrighteous world of ours, has received an important update which includes a new video player, Retina display support for the new generation of iPads, improved AirPlay, and more.

Hulu+ 2.5 brings support for browsing and discovering new shows by genre, a re-engineered (optimized) video player, Retina display support and a “nicer, more graphical user interface,” for iPad customers.

The AirPlay mirroring function is improved, and so is the HDMI support. It now requires iPad 2 and above, and iPhone 4S and above. Hulu developers encourage users to try it out in split view on the iPad. Finally, the update also includes some miscellaneous bug fixes and enhancements.

Designed for both iPhone and iPad, the universal Hulu+ app is a free download from the App Store.
