Google has released its Fiber TV app for iPad customers, but don’t fret just yet because the rollout is extremely limited. The service is only available in select areas in Kansas City at the moment.

Tim Jennison, software engineer, Google Fiber, makes the launch official over at the Google fiber blog:

“For the past month, our Fiber TV customers have been able to control their TVs with any recent Android device. Using the Fiber TV app from the Google Play Store, they can search for programming, browse listings, and select shows or recordings with just the touch or swipe of a finger.

“Now, iPad users can enjoy this simple, intuitive experience, too,” writes Jennison.

The app lets you find and discover live TV shows and movies, as well as content recorded on your DVR, and on-demand video.

You can use it to browse, buy, and watch your favorite content on your iPad, and it doubles as a remote controller for your big screen.

Google Fiber requires a subscription to the Google Fiber TV service and is currently available in select areas in Kansas City. Google will be adding Provo, Utah support later in the year, and in 2014, it will be available in Austin, Texas.
