Facebook today released a new update for users of its iOS client app featuring a new design, performance improvements, and a new way to see and choose the audience for a particular photo album.

Avid users of the iOS Facebook app can now update to the new 8.0 version and use a simpler way to see and choose a photo album's audience. Apparently this is the flagship feature of Facebook 8.0.

The social networking giant also mentions “an updated design that makes it easier to post and share on iPad,” as well as some speed improvements and more reliability.

Supported languages now include English, Bokmål, Norwegian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

To download Facebook 8.0, customers require at least iOS 6.0 (or later). Hardware-wise, the app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad second generation, iPad third generation, iPad fourth generation, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display, and iPod touch fifth generation.

Facebook 8.0 is optimized for all screen sizes and resolutions and comes as a Universal app, downloadable on any device from the same App Store link.
