14 DAY TRIAL // CodeWeavers Inc. has released a new version of its CrossOver software for Mac users, addressing issues with various applications, including Steam, Quicken 2013, and Tencent QQ.
If you’re having any kind of trouble with the Windows versions of these three apps, CodeWeavers says you should definitely download CrossOver Mac 13.0.1.
The update comes with patches for the “Application Support” component, and fixes a problem which caused Steam to crash after login, an error preventing Quicken 2013 from connecting to certain online accounts, and an undisclosed bug in Chinese instant-messaging application Tencent QQ.
For those who aren’t familiar with the software, CrossOver Mac is a solution for running Windows applications on a Macintosh computer without having to actually install Windows (either in Boot Camp or in a virtual machine).
The software supports a limited number of applications (relatively small, compared to the sheer number of Windows programs available on the market), but even “unsupported” programs can be run sometimes.
