ClamXav is at its second update this week, following a major new release which calls for OS X Snow Leopard as the minimum specification.
Starting with version 2.6, ClamXav has a new engine which supports both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, and takes advantage of the technologies in Apple’s newer OS X releases, including Mountain Lion.
The release notes don’t mention anything about Mavericks directly, but the numerous references to “10.8+” lead me to believe that Mark Allan has added support for OS X 10.9 as well.
The 2.6.1 update doesn’t bring anything too exciting to the table, but it does include a “fix for 32 bit machines running OS X 10.6 only,” according to Allan. So, if that’s you, the latest ClamXav version is available for download immediately at the link below.
