An easy-to-use and backup/cloning utility for the Mac, Carbon Copy Cloner 3.5.3 is now “fully qualified” to work with Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, and now Mavericks.

According to the developer, this new update is packed to the rafters with tweaks and code corrections, all of which will be quite appreciated by the install base.

For example, CCC now gives users volume-specific advice about how to enable full disk encryption.

This task generally involves several steps that must be executed in the correct order, but CCC will tell you exactly why full disk encryption is not supported on a particular volume.

Customers asking questions about full disk encryption will also find a nice FAQ in the app’s documentation. For the rest of the changes, hit the release notes.
