Apple has released a new software update for Snow Leopard users called Apple Software Installer 1.0 which aims to correct an issue that prevented certain pieces of Apple software from installing.

A technical note on the Mac maker’s web site reveals that Apple Software Installer Update 1.0 “addresses an issue that may prevent certain Apple software from installing.” Apple doesn’t say which software exactly.

According to the fruity company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, “this update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X 10.6.8.”

The update is for Snow Leopard users only. If you’re using Leopard or Lion, you don’t have to download this installer package. In fact, it won’t even work on systems that aren’t running the latest version of Snow Leopard. The download is a light-weight 1.34 MB.
