It uses mostly the same codebase as Adblock Plus for Chrome/Opera

Hate ads much? Of course you do. Who doesn’t? And even though advertisers have their own version of the story, it’s still your right to block ads if you want to declutter your view for a while.

If you’re an avid user of Apple’s Safari web browser, you’ll be glad to know that Adblock Plus for Safari Beta has been released.

Developed by Sebastian Noack, Adblock Plus for Safari uses pretty much the same codebase as Adblock Plus for Chrome and Opera, and therefore offers the same set of features on Safari.

Noack says, “Every improvement we do in the future for either browser extension will automatically land in the extension for the other browsers.” The extension works with all Safari versions between 5.1 and 7.0, with some builds exhibiting some discrepancies (issues).

Since it’s a beta, some things aren’t expected to work 100% properly, such as blocking popups. Users are welcome to download Adblock Plus for Safari Beta and (optionally) report bugs on the developers’ forum.
