Mom and Dad brought to tears by the guy’s gesture

Christmas usually lands more gifts for the kids than for the parents, but in the case of Joe Riquelme, the tables have turned.

In a video posted to YouTube, Joe teaches everyone a lesson in love and respect for the people who slaved away to ensure we have a good life, from wiping our behinds to paying our college tuition.

Sitting on a sofa with his mom and dad, Joe reaches into his pocket to pull out a wrinkled envelope and hands it to his mother. The father isn’t paying much attention to what’s going on. It is only when the mother starts crying that dad understands that something big has happened. Though he doesn’t know what, exactly. He asks the wife to hand him the papers, looks over them for a couple of seconds, and starts crying as well.

In a photo posted to his Facebook profile, Joe reveals the contents of the envelope: a notice from Bank of America that the parents are debt-free and a message from their son: “Your house is paid off. Merry Xmas. Joe.”

The clip is only one-minute long, but I strongly recommend that you arm yourself with some tissues. Hit the play button and then share your thoughts with us in the comments below. For who's asking, Joe sells an app called Videoshop, which allows iPhone owners to edit and share videos.
