After downloading and installing the latest Mountain Lion beta (build 12D50) from Apple, one anonymous developer tells us that the company should be preparing a final release soon.

A developer who wishes to remain anonymous tells us that OS X 10.8.3 build 12D50 bears telltale signs that it’s a polished build ready for release. Sadly, the developer failed to name what those signs were.

Whether or not our source is correct, even common sense will tell you that five builds in a row with no known issues and an almost identical set of focus areas indicates a short development cycle.

Granted, Apple has been testing OS X 10.8.3 for a while, but let’s not forget that we’ve had Christmas and the New Year celebrations in the interim. Even hardcore programmers need to get their holiday spirit on, no?
