Built on Dieter Rams’ 10 principles of design “to compliment your life, not complicate it”

Developer David Elgena may be new to the App Store, but he sure knows how to make an entrance, 650,000 apps later. His innovative iPhone app WTHR seems to put all weather apps to shame, including Apple’s.

Staying in line with Dieter Rams’ 10 principles of design, WTHR shows you your current local weather, a 7-day forecast, Fahrenheit & Celsius options, a global geo-location API (application programming interface), and "a 'carpe diem' swag."

The interface is perhaps the most intuitive we’ve ever seen on a weather app to date. It shows you the weather forecast in a truly visually-appealing way. Best of all, the app doesn’t compromise function over form.

Elgena offers special design credits and thanks to Adam Whitcroft, “for the immaculately crafted Climacons; Jony Ives [sic] for creating the canvas; [and] Dieter Rams for being bold enough to, remove.”
