System tweaking tool receives maintenance update with the usual bag of fixes

Maintain has released version 7.5.2 of Cocktail, the system tweaking tool used to optimize and clean Macs as well as to adjust the system’s UI. The software can be used free of charge for ten times, after which it will ask for a user license.

In version 7.5.2, the developers have added the ability to change tooltip display delay (found in Interface – General), an option to disable App Napp (System – Misc), and improvements on the procedure to clear the DNS cache.

An issue where Cocktail may fail to restart Core Audio daemon has been addressed and the uninstaller has been improved as well.

An Intel-only app, Cocktail 7.5.2 requires OS X Mavericks and has yet to support OS X Yosemite, the upcoming major update from Apple.

Many people use Cocktail not for its maintenance utilities (such as the cache cleaning features or the disk and Internet tools), but rather to personalize the look and feel of their Mac. You can use Cocktail to customize the Finder, the Dock, and the login window, disable the leather skin in Calendar and Contacts, and even tweak apps like Mail, iTunes, Safari, and QuickTime.

Download Cocktail 7.5.2 from the supplied link and give it a try today. Remember, you can use it for free for a total of ten times.
