Users told to employ Firefox or Safari, even Chrome Canary may work better

It has been confirmed that a certain version of Google’s Chrome web browser affects the proper operation of MacBook Air computers shipped in mid-2012 by Apple, prompting users to restart their systems and use different web-surfing solutions.

Multiple customers who received their brand-new Airs announced by Apple earlier this month are reporting that their systems keep freezing up, prompting them to restart the OS. The culprit was identified as Chrome, the WebKit-based browser designed and developed by the Mountain View search giant company, Google.

Until Google works out the kinks, users are advised to employ alternative web browsing solutions, such as Mozilla’s Firefox, Opera Software’s namesake web browser, or Apple’s own Safari.

Those who want to keep using Chrome may have better luck with the latest Canary (nightly) build, though such rapidly-shifting software is not to be relied on.
