Super Hexagon developer Terry Cavanagh creates Flappy Bird tribute

Super Hexagon creator Terry Cavanagh has created a Flappy Bird tribute called Maverick Bird. It’s set in a cave and you play with a gem stone instead of a bird.

The psychedelic graphics and addictive gameplay make Maverick Bird even better than the original Flappy Bird game. Maverick Bird is freeware and doesn’t force ads on you.

I say Maverick is better because it has a lot more replayability. You don’t get killed at the first pass five times in a row. It’s faster, more exciting, and offers randomized mazes, instead of the same passes over and over again.

That’s not to say Flappy Bird suddenly doesn’t have any value. After all, Maverick Bird was born from it. You’ll need Flash to play this one. If you’re all set up, visit Cavanagh's website and have a blast.

A piece of advice before you go: do not, under any circumstances, play this thing at the office. You’re guaranteed to not get any work done the entire day.
