14 DAY TRIAL // Apple fans using BlackBerry’s instant messaging service will be pleased to know that the application has just received a major update that brings lots of new features.
Although no visual changes were included, BBM for iOS users should expect the application to get more functionality after applying the update.
First of all, with the latest version of BBM, iOS users will be able to add new contacts to the application by PIN, email, SMS and barcode. Speaking of which, BlackBerry announced that you can now display your barcode and scan barcodes all in one screen.
The next important new feature included in the update is the ability to find friends using BBM. You can also invite phone book contacts to download BBM if you wish.
Last but not least, with the newest version of BBM for iOS, you can review and accept invites from other BBM users. Some bug fixes and performance improvements have been included in the update as well.
You can now download BBM for iOS 2.3.0.12 for free via App Store. The application should be fully compatible with all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices powered by iOS 6.0 or later. Keep in mind that BBM for iOS has been optimized for iPhone 5.
