The awesome point-and-click game Botanicula, by Amanita Design, will be out for iPads on May 1, according to an announcement from the Czech studio. A new trailer has been put together to mark the launch, and the title will probably cost less than the desktop version.

According to its creators, Botanicula is “about a bunch of five friends – little tree creatures who set out for a journey to save the last seed from their home tree which is infested by evil parasites.”

The game has been praised for pretty much everything it has to offer, from the intuitive and addictive gameplay, to its impressive visuals and the original soundtrack and sound effects.

There are no other details available, but you can expect it to be playable only on the newest iPhones and iPads with iOS 7 installed. Botanicula has been around for almost two years, but Amanita somehow refrained from porting it to iOS until now.

The new technologies and optimizations included in iOS 7, as well as the faster processor of the 5s and the iPad Air may well be the reason why we’re only now seeing this game released for iDevices. I’ll be sure to give you an update the minute Botanicula is out.
