Nothing to see here folks, move along. That’s a summary of Foxconn’s statement provided to the media over the reported suicide attempt at its Longhua, Shenzhen factory a few days ago.

CNet has it on paper from the Chinese electronics manufacturer that “…on March 29, three employees at our campus in Longhua, Shenzhen were involved in a workplace dispute over the company's decision to offer them an opportunity to relocate to another Foxconn China facility as part of a shift in production linked to their business group.”

Yet Weibo reports that some employees were downright pressed to submit their resignations.

Foxconn maintains that it was an isolated dispute where “the employees in question gathered at the top of a campus building and stayed there until local law enforcement authorities arrived at the scene.”

Foxconn, which assembles the world’s top selling electronics, including Apple’s iPhones and iPads, added: “The dispute was resolved peacefully and no one was injured. Any reports to the contrary are totally inaccurate.”
