Quanta Computer, a Taiwan-based manufacturer of notebook computers, has learned that Apple is planning to deploy new MacBook Pros this year, namely in October.

Reportedly equipped with the new Haswell chipset from Intel, the upgraded MacBook Pros aren’t going to be more expensive, Macotakara reports, citing China’s Commercial Times. The Chinese newspaper reportedly heard from industry sources that LCD prices have fallen, while DRAM prices have soared. Canceling each other out, these changes won’t affect the selling price of the notebooks, according to the report.

Shipments will start in October, says the Chinese newspaper. The rumor would put the new MacBook Pro launch on par with a widely expected Apple event for the launch of a new range of iPhones and iPads.

Apple is also said to be upgrading the Mac mini to the same Haswell platform, and the iMac will reportedly soon follow suit.
