Korean phone maker inflates benchmark results for Galaxy Note 3

A Geekbench multicore test result published by Samsung has been debunked as “inflated,” with Apple’s SVP of marketing, Phil Schiller, calling them on their “shenanigans” via Twitter.

Samsung has been caught cheating in Galaxy Note 3 benchmark tests, where the Korean smartphone maker reportedly inflated the results by as much as 20%, in an attempt to prove its superiority over competing handsets, such as the iPhone 5s.

Discovered by Ars Technica, the exaggeration has caught the eye of Apple’s SVP of Worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller.

Schiller, who has somewhat of a presence on Twitter (arguably the biggest of all Apple executives), called Samsung on their “shenanigans” and linked to the Ars report for the whole world to see what Samsung is up to.

Ironically, even without the “booster,” the Note 3 still performed much better than the Optimus G2 (which has pretty much the same SoC).
