Teenager makes cool touchscreen keyboard concept, looks doable

We’re probably still a long way before touchscreens become ubiquitous on desktop computers. Heck, Apple isn’t even sure it wants to do it with its laptops, despite Microsoft having already proved that it works brilliantly. But the keyboard, however, is another story.

Pictured above is a rendering created by Ross M, a teen from Indianapolis who admires Apple and aspires to create a company that designs equally beautiful things.

“I guess the keyboard is the most novel thing about this image. It's basically a touchscreen keyboard. It would be pressure sensitive [to] sense the pressure of your fingertips based on the size of the contact area [...] so that you could rest your fingers on it without typing out a random string of characters. It has a built in touchpad to the right, too,” he writes.

It may be a while before Apple creates something like the touch keyboard in Ross M’s concept, but the design of the computer itself is indeed something that Apple should be working on for the next revision of the all-in-one computer. The bezel is something that Apple wants to do away with to achieve a more futuristic design, and Ross’s design direction even makes the computer look like the back of an iPhone.
