Video producer Lou Borella claims to have details about Apple’s new Mac Pro from “a source or two that has some credibility.” The computer allegedly has no internal expandability.

According to Borella’s sources, the new Mac Pro will be “heavily reliant” on the relatively new Thunderbolt connectivity standard which goes hand in hand with another bullet point from his Monday Facebook post saying “It will have support for Dual GPU's with three monitor support right out of the box.”

So far so good, but one bullet point in particular sounds like a huge downer: no internal expandability. Of course, if you don’t have to expand it internally, that doesn’t mean it’s all bad news.

As Borella himself puts it, “To truly see any benefit in this type of configuration you have to forget what you know about your existing machine.”

He adds, “You are going to have to believe that Apple has thought about all the possible existing workflows and has a solution that can replace them.”

Other technical details dished out by the video buff include: no FW800 or Optical drive; complete redesign of the chassis; release in fall.
