Apple has posted the January 19 recording of its Education Event in NYC on Apple.com where anyone with a Mac, PC, or iDevice can watch the presentation as a continuous stream.

To see Phil Schiller & friends unveil iBooks 2, iBooks Author, iTunes U, and textbook rentals live, you will need Safari 4 or 5 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Lion, Safari on iOS 3 or later, or QuickTime 7 on Windows. The video stream is available here.

Featuring Apple’s top brass in Internet software and digital distribution, the event was focused on reinventing education as we know it — a dream that Steve Jobs had hoped to fulfill in his lifetime.

Thanks to the new products Apple launched yesterday, as well as the company’s partnership with major textbook publishers, we can safely say that education just got its biggest upgrade in decades.
