Apple has created or supports a record number of jobs in Europe. They have put out a webpage on their UK site to show the numbers.

According to Apple, the new products and new industries they have created have resulted in nearly 630,000 European jobs in their stores, at supported developers and businesses. The AppStore has also created hundreds of thousands of jobs that previously did not exist in the European economy.

The same document explains how the developers have earned $6.5 billion (€4.87 billion) from App Store sales worldwide. The numbers show that Apple has 16,000 employees in Europe and there are 497,000 jobs directly attributable to the App Store.

When it comes to App Store numbers, 21,000 estimated iOS developer jobs are now available in Europe. There are a total of $280,500 members of Apple's paid developer program. Most of these are in the United Kingdom (61,100), Germany (52,200) followed by France (30,000) and Italy (20,900).

The Apple Stores have more employees in the United Kingdom (5000), Ireland (4000), followed by France (1800) and Germany (1600). Their facility in Cork, Ireland currently serves the whole Europe when it comes to distribution, manufacturing and tech support. Apple is Cork's largest private employer, the senior management is Irish and most employees have been with Apple for over two decades.

The page goes into the retail stores area. With 101 stores in eight countries, Apple has created over 10,000 employees across Europe. They also explain how Europe is home to their most important suppliers, over 4500 of them.
