For the past few months, Apple has been featuring a nearly blank front page on Apple.com, showing only the latest product. As of today, the company has returned to the original format featuring the well-known four “boxes” at the bottom.

While this isn’t exactly breaking news, the change is nevertheless noteworthy. In addition to featuring ads for its latest products, including the iPad Air, iPad mini, and the two new iPhones introduced in September, Apple reserves one box for the American Red Cross.

Offering an easy way to donate to the victims affected by a typhoon that hit the Philippines, the ad serves as a button that takes customers straight to iTunes, where they can make a pledge using their Apple ID.

Apple today also started sales of the iPad mini with Retina display. What with so many new products on sale, the Cupertino giant was somewhat forced to return to the original format.
