NTT DOCOMO and Apple have announced a partnership to carry the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to Japan. The phones will be available on the DOCOMO network beginning on Friday, September 20.

Apple this year is barging into new Asian markets, delivering not one, but two fresh iPhone models, while continuing to sell some older-generation models (some dating as far back as to 2010).

Asia seems to love the iPhone, and Apple is responding. After signing off China Mobile, Apple scored a deal with DOCOMO to deploy its elegant iPhone 5S and the more colorful iPhone 5C in the Land of the Rising Sun.

iPhone 5S features an all-new A7 chip with a 64-bit architecture, a new camera with True Tone flash, and a fingerprint reader called Touch ID.

iPhone 5C has a new design that comes in blue, green, pink, yellow, and white, and sports tech specs comparable to those of the iPhone 5 (which is now officially discontinued).

"We’re thrilled to offer the incredible new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c to our customers," said Kaoru Kato, President and CEO of NTT DOCOMO, Inc., according to Apple's press release.

"We know our customers will enjoy the amazing experience of iPhone on DOCOMO’s high-quality network," added Kato.
