For one reason or another Apple this week decided to update an old support document which shows customers how to identify different models of the company’s $99/€99 set-top box, the Apple TV.

With rumors flying around that another Apple TV upgrade is on the way – this time with gaming capabilities – one can’t help but speculate that Apple is laying the groundwork on its Support site to include references to a new model.

KB article HT5823 mentions the full name of each Apple TV iteration, the year it was introduced, and detailed tech specs for each model in part, including storage capacity and wireless capabilities. Apple then refers customers to the Apple TV technical specifications for additional details about each version.

Could Apple be planning a special event for next month to unveil its fourth-generation Apple TV? What do you guys think?
