Cupertino City Council gives unanimous approval for Apple’s circular building

Conceptualized and partially designed by Steve Jobs himself (with the world’s best architects), the spaceship Apple Campus 2 proposed back in 2011 is finally underway.

After debating for a few hours in a meeting last night, the Cupertino City Council gave its final (unanimous) approval for the building to be erected. Not that there was any doubt such a brilliant project would be approved. It’s probably the biggest architectural marvel after the pyramids at Giza.

As usual, there are still some formalities to be carried out, including some smaller-scale approval check points that will undoubtedly pass through with no problem. All in all, Apple's full set of permits is to go into effect around November 20.

It will take years for this thing to get done, but I’m hoping to visit it someday before I drop dead. Ever since Steve Jobs pitched it to the Cupertino City Council on that fateful Tuesday (June 8, 2011), I’ve regarded Campus 2 as Apple’s coolest invention ever.

This self-sustained gem will revolutionize building and architecture in the same way the iPhone forever changed the face of consumer technology.
