Apple this week released two important updates for iOS and OS X users, one aimed at the Chinese customer base, the other targeting developers.

On January 29, Apple released iOS 7.0.5 which “corrects network provisioning for some iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models sold in China.” The software update is said to be available through iTunes, and goes onto iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c handsets (presumably distributed through the China Mobile network).

On January 30, Apple seeded the fourth beta of OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 (build 13C48) to members of its developer program. Focus areas include SMB2, Mail, Messages, Graphics Drivers, VoiceOver, and VPN. The final version of the software has no definitive launch date. Apple usually seeds six-to-eight betas before finalizing an incremental OS X update.

Developers can download OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Build 13C48 from the Mac Dev Center on Apple’s Developer portal.
