The U.S. Apple online store is featuring new discounts on refurbished iPad mini tablets, with the base model selling for as low as $279.

If you’re on a tight budget and want to grab an iPad mini, now’s the time to check out the Special Deals area of Apple’s online store.

Refurbished iPad minis are now available for just $279 (€216), which spells a $50 price cut (around €38). This is Apple’s asking price for the entry-level iPad mini with Wi-Fi-only connectivity and 16 gigs of storage.

If you’re out to buy the bigger version of the iPad with a 9.7-inch screen, the discounts are also bigger. A lot bigger!

A 16GB iPad 2 with Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity sells for $349 (€270). Apple says you save $180 (€140) on this deal.
