Apple is reportedly interested in buying PrimeSense, the company that pioneered the technology behind Microsoft’s Kinect, a motion sensing input solution that would work wonders for the Apple TV.

Via a couple of Israeli reports comes word that Apple might be eager to spend as much as $300 million/€228 million on the acquisition and, while no one knows exactly why they’re buying, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was for that rumored Apple TV revision.

If you’re a Softpedia regular, you might remember us reporting that Apple was getting serious about putting a game controller in your hand. Couple that with the company’s rumored plans to enhance the Apple TV experience, and the road to a $99/€99 Apple gaming console seems paved for fall 2013.

Add motion sensing to the mix and you’ve got the cheapest contender to the console wars taking on PlayStation, Xbox, and Wii with an App Store that’s expanding faster than the Universe itself.
