Apple has released a new version of GarageBand for iOS platforms adding support for playing and recording with Audiobus-supported apps. Other enhancements and bug fixes are also included.

GarageBand 1.4 iOS now lets you “play and record music apps supported by Audiobus directly into GarageBand,” according to the changelog.

Users can now turn off grid snapping to control over region and note editing more thoroughly. Finally, an issue that caused feedback when connecting 3rd-party audio accessories into the headphone/microphone jack has been addressed.

GarageBand requires new-generation devices to run, including iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad 2 or later, while Audiobus requires a separate purchase, according to Apple. GarageBand iOS sells for $4.99 / €4.49 and can be found in the App Store’s Music category.
