Apple has quietly removed its own Keynote Remote application from the iOS App Store and included its functionality in the newly-updated Keynote 2.1 app from the iWork suite.

The iOS version of the Keynote application eliminates the need to have a separate “remote” app installed on your iPhone or iPad in order to conduct a successful presentation.

According to the release notes, Keynote 2.1 now features the ability to use the app as a slideshow controller for your audience. Other changes refer to new transitions including Droplet and Grid, better presenter display options, the ability to use iCloud links to share password-protected documents, and more.

Users can also create richer charts now (with date, time, and duration values), use custom number formats in imported charts, and work with PowerPoint 2013 slides. Apple also threw in some bug fixes and stability improvements.
