Apple has released an updated version of its Education software for iPhone and iPad, iTunes U. The new release checks for course updates when the user pulls to refresh the notepad.

In addition to the “check-for-course” feature, iTunes U 1.3.1 addresses an issue where courses would fail to update, as well as a problem where the software would unexpectedly quit when opening the Catalog repeatedly.

Also new, the app comes with improved support for Arabic, French, German, Greek, Italian, Russian, and Spanish speakers.

iTunes U is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad.

The app can be found in the Education category on Apple’s App Store and requires iOS 5.0 or later to run. iTunes U is optimized for all screen sizes.
