iTunes Movie Trailers, the movie-centric application developed and maintained by Apple Inc., now plays HD-quality video on iPad. This enhancement is available starting with version 1.2.1, which everyone can download from the App Store immediately.
iTunes Movie Trailers lets you browse titles, clips, and featurettes for the most popular movies.
It offers galleries of HD photos featuring your favorite titles and the actors that star in them, and it lets you explore a year-long calendar of movie releases.
The app also serves as a ticket info service, and recommends showtimes near you.
Version 1.2.1 now plays HD-quality trailers “on iPad and iPad 2” according to Apple. Going by the description, all iPad versions are supported, but Apple doesn’t make it very clear. Users need to enable High Definition by selecting Settings > Trailers > Trailer Playback Quality.
